Point-to-Point Option:
Enjoy a popular family day hike that combines stunning beauty and biodiversity along a well-marked trail of easy to moderate difficulty. The 5.3-mile “point-to-point” hike begins at Glacier Spit Trailhead, leading over mostly level terrain. After reaching the Grewingk Glacier Lake, the trail continues back via the Saddle Trail, where you’ll encounter a moderate rise to the top and descend a series of well-designed switchbacks to the Saddle Trailhead. Alan’s Water Taxi will pick you up for the return to Homer.

Shorter “Out-and-Back” Option:
Begin at the Saddle Trailhead, climbing a 250-foot ascent through switchbacks to the top of the saddle. Gradually descend through an old-growth forest to the Grewingk Glacier Lake trail junction, leading to the glacier lake. After enjoying the views, hike back along the same path to the Saddle Trailhead.
